• Primary role in translating district correspondence and community communication materials.

• Provides simultaneous oral translations for district and/or school hearings, meetings, special events and activities.

• Works in collaboration with others.

• Participate in District meetings to communicate information and gain feedback and/or direction on a variety of issues.

• Distribute documents and materials to appropriate staff, students and/or parents.

NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist other personnel as may be required to support them with the completion of their work activities.

• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.

• Interpreter Certification required

• Prior job-related experience preferred but not required.

• Bilingual and Biliterate (Spanish), required.

• Experience working in a K-12 setting preferred but not required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to work well under pressure.

• Ability to work flexible hours.

• Skilled in advanced language proficiency.

• Knowledge of the ethics of interpreting or translating.
