Job summary
Successful candidate will be caring for patients within a hospital setting who are awaiting to go home with support or nursing/residential placements.
You will be responsible for providing care for patients who require assistance with all activities of daily living including washing, dressing mobilising according to manual handling, helping serve meals, feeding patients and pressure area care.
Successful candidate will also be expected to complete documentation to an acceptable standard , adhering with Infection prevention protocols, assist in keeping ward area clean and clutter free.
The applicants will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills along with the ability to use their own initiative.
Flexibility regarding shift patterns is essential.

Excellent communication and interpersoanl skills. To be self motivates, organised and flexibl;e in your approach. The ability to work on your own using your initiative , whilst demonstrating good team working skills and behaviours in order to be part of an already established team. A clear vision for best practice. An ability to develop relationships across professional and organaisational boundaries. You will be supported during your orientation and devlopment. Ongoing support will be provided through team meetings and development days. You can expect to have regular contact with teh Ward Manager regarding your development. You will have access to further study and opportunities to expand your role in line with service development.

The Health Board currently operate a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30 minute or two 30-minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements. This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. Whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isnt fluency, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means being able to communicate in Welsh during routine clinical situations, such as welcoming patients, discussing straightforward aspects of their care and answering routine questions. Qualifications Essential
Level 2 in care. or the ability to undertake a period of Induction and on-the-job training to include theoretical knowledge of care and a variety of work-related procedures
Desirable
Level 2 vocational qualification in relevant health care related subject
Experience Essential
Experience working in hospital settings
