About this role

Job summary

The Drayton Surgery is seeking a Salaried GP to join our friendly and growing team for 4-6 sessions per week.

We are a large, well-established practice with a patient list of almost 24,500 patients, serving a diverse population across north Portsmouth. As a practice, we aim to provide safe, modern, patient-centred care whilst creating a working environment where clinicians feel supported, valued and able to enjoy their work.

Alongside this, we benefit from a wide range of additional roles through our PCN including Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, First Contact Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers, Mental Health Facilitators, Cancer Care Coordinators and Care Coordinators.

Main duties of the job

As a Salaried GP, you will provide a mixture of:

Face-to-face consultations Telephone consultations eConsult reviewsThere is a fair and equitable share of both:

Morning triage clinics Afternoon duty clinicsThese clinics are always worked alongside a clinical colleague, helping to share workload and provide peer support.

You will have your own patient list, with list sizes set proportionately lower than those of GP Partners based on the number of sessions worked. Patients remain free to see any GP within the practice.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Qualified GP with full GMC registration status MRCGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT) Evidence of current validation evidence of last appraisal eligibility to practice in the UK independently

Experience Essential

Experience of working in primary care environment Experience of continued professional development Experience of QOF and clinical audits

Desirable

Experience of medicines management General understanding of the primary care contract

Skills Essential

Excellent communication skills (Written and oral) Strong IT skills Clear, polite telephone manner Competent in the use of Office and Outlook EMIS/Systmone/Vision user skills Effective time management (planning and organising) Ability to work as a team member and autonomously Excellent interpersonal skills Problem solving and analytical skills Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure Experience with clinical management Ability to work under pressure in stressful situations Sensitive and empathic in distressing situations Punctual and committed to supporting the team effort

Systmone User Experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes
