Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, reliable, and professional Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive GP practice team.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a welcoming, efficient, and compassionate service. This is a busy and rewarding role requiring excellent communication, organisational, and customer service skills.
Previous experience in a GP practice is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
Working hours are between 8am - 6.30pm weekdays.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
Provide a professional and courteous reception service to patients and visitors. Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and direct enquiries appropriately. Book, amend, and cancel appointments using the clinical system. Register new patients and update patient records accurately. Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice procedures. Receive and distribute incoming mail and electronic correspondence. Scan, file, and maintain patient records while ensuring confidentiality. Signpost patients to the most appropriate service where appropriate. Undertake general administrative duties to support the clinical and administrative teams. Work flexibly to meet the needs of the practice and provide reception cover as required.
