Main duties of the job As a Lead Nurse at Elysium Healthcare, you will be a senior member of the nursing team with responsibilities of providing visible clinical leadership across the hospital. Your role will include promoting and safeguarding the well-being of service users, employees, and visitors while ensuring patient care standards are maintained. This position requires extensive experience in similar settings within the NHS or Private Care and includes participation in senior nursing call arrangements. You'll support the Director of Nurses with relevant information, lead nursing services maintaining professional standards, manage resources, supervise senior nurses, and coordinate pre-admission assessments. You will also directly engage in customer and contract liaison, deputize for the Unit Manager, and comply with relevant legislation responsibilities. To actively promote multidisciplinary working. Participate in the Senior Nurse on call arrangement Provide the Director of Nurses with relevant, accurate and timely information required for effective decision making Leadership of Nursing Services ensuring highest possible professional standards Management of resources within budget allocation Supervision of senior nurses Direct involvement in the preadmission assessment process Direct customer and contract liaison in conjunction with the unit manager Deputising for the Unit Manager To comply with individual responsibilities of relevant legislation Things that you will have:
RMN or RNMH Post Graduate qualification at degree level relevant to healthcare Management qualification (DMS or equivalent preferred) Registered Nurse RMN/RMNH 7 years post qualification experience Budgetary and financial management Project management 2 years operational Management at senior level Where you will be working
Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET. You will be working at Thornford Park, a 141 bedded independent hospital which supports service users that require medium and low secure Forensic Mental Health Services. In addition to these services there is also a PICU Mental Health Service.
The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering people in their recovery and rehabilitation. Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder, and females and males in a PICU service.
