Job summary
We are recruiting a qualified GP - the criteria is in line with the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme
The eligibility criteria for GPs has been updated to remove the restriction relating to CCT completion within the last two years. Eligibility now applies to any GP, provided they have not been substantively employed as a General Medical Practitioner in a Core Network Practice of the PCN at any point in the previous 12 months.
The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the contract.
Main duties of the job
As a salaried GP, your will play a crucial role in the provision of primary healthcare services.
Undertake surgery consultations including face-to-face, digital, online, telephone
Delivery of Enhance service appointments and same day access.
The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract.
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
Effective management of long-term conditions.
Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas)
Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
Prepare and complete the revalidation process
About us
Our PCN consists of nine practices with a total population of approx. 48,000 patients. We are situated in central Walsall and we currently have 24 staff working under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme across our PCN.

Work with patients in order to support compliance with and adherence to prescribed treatments.
Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-care. Support and manage health needs of patients presenting for family planning or sexual health consultations
Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
Prepare and complete the revalidation process
