Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Diana Childrens Specialist Practitioner (Special Needs Education) due to team expansion.
Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only, 8:30am to 3:30pm (salary pro rata).
The successful candidate will join the Diana Childrens Community Service team based at Ash Field Academy, supporting children and young people aged 4 to 19 with a range of special educational needs and complex healthcare requirements, including life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing educational and healthcare support within the school setting.Delivering care in line with individual care plans, EHCPs, IEPs and statements agreed with parents/carers and the SENCO.Supporting qualified nursing staff and the SENCO in reviewing and meeting each child's individual needs.
You will work alongside dedicated staff, governors, parents and carers who are committed to helping pupils achieve the best possible outcomes.

Main duties of the job
Based at Ash Field School, this role supports children and young people with complex healthcare and additional learning needs. Working within the Diana Children's Community Service, you will provide health and educational support, helping pupils access learning safely and achieve their individual goals.
Key duties include:
Delivering care in line with care plans and EHCPs.Supporting health, wellbeing and educational outcomes.Working closely with families, school staff and healthcare professionals.Providing health advice, maintaining records and reporting concerns.Contributing to safeguarding, medication management and service quality.Supporting colleagues and participating in training and supervision.
Person Specification
Level 3 qualification in Child Development, Education or equivalent.Experience working with children, particularly those with disabilities or additional needs.Knowledge of child development and equality principles.Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently, manage sensitive situations and build positive relationships with children and families.Enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to learning new skills.
