Job SummaryYou will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Material Planning Branch (Code 224) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying engineering concepts, principles, methods, precedents, and techniques to evaluate and apply the latest developments and techniques in solving problems, identify, evaluate and recommend solutions for resolution. Experience in managing the procurement of shop materials and services for non-nuclear industrial ship repairs or similar. Experience in the planning and coordination of complex acquisition plans for multiple ship work projects in varying stages or similar. Experience in performing high-level liaison functions across the shipyard to resolve differences and build strong departmental relationships or similar. Experience using written and verbal communication skills in an administrative supervisory function, such as making plans, assigning work, setting objectives, and policy and procedure development or similar. Major DutiesYou will serve as a Material Planning Manager.You will be responsible for managing the timely identification, ordering and successful acquisition of shop work related materials/services in support of non-nuclear industrial efforts.You will be responsible for the planning and coordination of complex acquisition plans for multiple ship work projects in varying stages.You will be responsible for the quality, timely material support in meeting the requirements of multiple availabilities of the most complex nature.You will develop weekly ship material status report to show the Material Profile on assigned availability.
