About this role

Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionThis role supports a busy steel warehouse operation through machine operation, material handling, equipment cleaning, and quality inspection. General production workers operate CNC machines and related equipment, move materials using forklifts and front-end loaders, and ensure parts and machinery are kept clean and in good working order across multiple shifts. Responsibilities • Operate CNC machines and other production equipment safely and efficiently. • Load materials into CNC machines and set up jobs according to production requirements. • Change over jobs on CNC machines, including editing and troubleshooting CNC code as needed. • Perform basic preventative maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance. • Conduct quality checks on materials and finished parts using measuring devices such as tape measures and micrometers. • Read and interpret blueprints and job orders, then enter job information accurately into CNC systems. • Operate a front-end loader to move materials to and from storage racks. • Load and unload flatbed trucks in a safe and organized manner. • Clean CNC equipment and parts to maintain a safe and efficient work area. • Handle materials throughout the warehouse using forklifts, power tools, and other material handling equipment. • Perform mechanical assembly tasks as needed to support production. • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines in a steel warehouse environment. • Work assigned shift hours and collaborate with team members to meet production goals. Essential Skills • Experience operating CNC machines and other production machinery. • Ability to load, set up, and change over jobs on CNC equipment. • Skill in editing and troubleshooting basic CNC code. • Proficiency in using tape measures, micrometers, and other measuring devices for inspection and quality checks. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job orders. • Experience with material handling in a warehouse or industrial environment. • Capability to operate a front-end loader to move materials safely. • Experience loading and unloading flatbed trucks. • Ability to perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines and related equipment. • Comfort working in a physical, steel warehouse environment. • Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively across different shifts. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting. • Familiarity with power tools used in mechanical assembly and material handling. • Background in mechanical assembly or general machine operating. • Experience working with cranes in a warehouse or steel environment. • Previous work in machining, inspection, or CNC operations. • Ability to clean and maintain equipment and parts to support efficient production. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a steel warehouse environment that is not climate-controlled and can be dirty and physically demanding. Team members work around heavy steel materials, CNC machines, front-end loaders, forklifts, cranes, and other industrial equipment. Work is performed on one of three shifts: 1st shift (5:30 AM – 1:30 PM, Monday – Friday), 2nd shift (1:30 PM – 9:30 PM, Monday – Friday), or 3rd shift (9:30 PM – 5:30 AM, Sunday – Thursday). Employees should be comfortable with physical work, industrial noise, and wearing appropriate safety gear suited to a warehouse and production setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
