About this role

Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThis role is ideal for a skilled Maintenance Technician with strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting high-speed production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will focus on keeping bottling, canning, capping, and filling equipment running safely and efficiently, diagnosing issues quickly to minimize downtime and support continuous operations in a highly automated facility. Responsibilities • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high-speed production equipment used in bottling, canning, capping, and filling operations to ensure consistent and reliable performance. • Diagnose mechanical issues on conveyor systems, motors, gearboxes, and related components, and perform repairs or replacements as needed. • Perform pneumatic troubleshooting and repair, including work on valves, cylinders, actuators, and associated control components. • Conduct electrical troubleshooting on production equipment, focusing on sensors, proximity switches, relays, and AC electrical controls. • Identify and resolve issues on sensitive, high-speed equipment quickly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to reduce unplanned breakdowns. • Use welding and fabrication skills, including TIG and stick welding, to repair or modify stainless steel and other metal components as required. • Work with automated material handling and packaging equipment such as conveyors, cappers, fillers, and labelers to maintain smooth operation. • Troubleshoot and repair gears, bearings, motors, and other mechanical assemblies in an industrial or highly automated manufacturing environment. • Support the reliability of lube systems, palletizers, and other ancillary equipment through regular inspection and maintenance. • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritize work orders, respond to urgent equipment issues, and maintain a strong sense of urgency throughout the day. • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support continuous improvement and effective equipment history tracking. • Participate in ongoing training programs to expand technical skills and apply newly learned techniques to improve equipment performance. • Follow all safety procedures and best practices when working with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to maintain a safe work environment. Essential Skills • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience maintaining high-speed production equipment in a manufacturing environment. • Experience troubleshooting and repairing conveyor systems, including mechanical and control-related issues. • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems, including basic pneumatics and pneumatic troubleshooting. • Experience replacing and repairing motors and gearboxes, including gears, bearings, and related components. • Electrical troubleshooting experience, including work with sensors, proximity switches, relays, and AC electrical controls. • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues on sensitive, high-speed equipment with a strong sense of urgency. • Experience working in highly automated production environments with automated material handling and packaging equipment. • Background in automotive, industrial, aircraft, beverage, or canning/manufacturing maintenance environments. • Familiarity with conveyors, cappers, fillers, and labelers in a production setting. • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where equipment moves quickly and production demands are high. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with bottling, canning, capping, or filling equipment is highly preferred. • Welding and fabrication experience, particularly with stainless steel, using TIG welding and stick welding. • Knowledge of arc and TIG welding practices and general welding techniques. • Understanding of metal cutting fundamentals and experience using cutting tools. • Experience with advanced conveyor systems and their maintenance. • Knowledge of hydraulics, including basic hydraulics and hydraulic troubleshooting. • Experience with basic pneumatics and intermediate-level pneumatics. • Familiarity with lube systems and their maintenance requirements. • Exposure to advanced palletizers and automated packaging equipment. • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting high-speed production equipment is a strong plus. • PLC programming or troubleshooting experience is not required for this role. The plant can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer, with large bay doors that remain open around the clock, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures. The pace is very fast, and a high sense of urgency is expected throughout the day as equipment runs at high speeds and production targets must be met. You will work around automated bottling and canning lines, conveyors, cappers, fillers, labelers, palletizers, and associated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The environment emphasizes hands-on work with tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments, alongside structured training programs designed to build your technical expertise over time. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
