Job Title: General Laborer – Underground Utilities Job DescriptionThis role supports the installation of underground utilities by performing a wide range of physical construction tasks. You will work outdoors year-round, assisting with excavation, grading, rock placement, and supporting pipefitters and equipment operators to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.Responsibilities
• Dig trenches and holes using shovels and other hand tools to support underground utility installation. • Perform grading and leveling of soil and work areas to prepare sites for utility and concrete work. • Lay and spread rock aggregate and other materials according to project specifications. • Assist pipefitters with positioning, handling, and staging pipes and related materials. • Support equipment operators by maintaining clear work areas and following instructions for safe operations. • Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for construction and utility work. Essential Skills
• At least 1 year of experience in construction, preferably in utility construction, dirt work, or general labor. • Ability to perform physically demanding labor tasks, including digging, lifting, and working on uneven terrain. • Experience using hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and basic construction tools. • Experience using power tools safely in a construction or outdoor work environment. • Comfort working in harsh outdoor conditions, including exposure to heat and cold. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in utility construction or underground utility installation. • Experience with dirt work, grading, and rock aggregate placement. • Exposure to concrete work, including site preparation and cleanup. • Landscaping experience, particularly related to site restoration after construction. • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new construction techniques.
