Job Title: AssemblerJob DescriptionThis role involves assembling products in a production environment using hand and power tools, performing touch-up painting, and following detailed drawings and instructions. You set up, operate, and maintain production tools and equipment while complying with all safety, quality, and work rules. You help maintain a safe, clean workspace, communicate effectively with supervision, and support continuous improvement in processes and materials. Responsibilities • Perform mechanical assembly of products using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices. • Set up, operate, and maintain production tools and equipment according to established procedures. • Perform touch-up painting on assembled products as directed. • Read and interpret product drawings, blueprints, and related documentation to complete assemblies accurately. • Use measuring tapes and other measurement tools to ensure components meet required specifications. • Comply with all safety, quality, and work rules, guidelines, and regulations at all times. • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area throughout the shift. • Keep the supervisor informed of problems, progress, and suggestions in a timely and clear manner. • Identify opportunities for cost-effective alternative methods in processes and materials and communicate these ideas. • Record red-lines and markups for any drawing changes required during manufacturing and submit them to the supervisor upon request. • Perform heavy lifting as needed to move, position, and assemble components. • Carry out other related duties as required by the supervisor to support production goals. Essential Skills • Previous assembly experience in a production, manufacturing, construction, or similar environment. • Ability to safely and confidently use hand and power tools on a daily basis. • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately. • Comfort working in a production setting with repetitive tasks and standing or walking for extended periods. • Capability to perform heavy lifting, frequently up to 50–100 lbs. • Ability to bend, squat, crawl, and climb as required to access work areas and components. • Strong attention to detail, including the ability to work with small fonts, fine print on drawings, and small or detailed items. • Ability to follow safety rules, quality standards, and work instructions consistently. • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of assembly processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Mechanical assembly experience is preferred. • Experience in construction or related trades is beneficial, as skills translate well to this role. • Comfort reading product drawings and blueprints to guide assembly work. • Experience working with measuring tapes and other precision measurement tools. • Ability to identify and suggest improvements in processes and materials. • Willingness to perform touch-up painting and other finishing tasks as needed. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a large warehouse and open machine shop setting with approximately 220 employees and a diverse workforce. Work activities involve about 10% sitting and 90% walking or standing throughout the shift. The position requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs, with the ability to lift heavier items as needed, as well as bending, squatting, crawling, and climbing to access different work areas. Tasks often involve close visual work, including reading small fonts and fine print on drawings and working with small or detailed components. The environment is production-focused, with regular use of hand and power tools, measuring tapes, and product drawings or blueprints. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
