Job Title: Welder / Fabricator Shift: 1st, 2nd, Weekend Pay: $20-$28Direct HireJob DescriptionThis role focuses on performing high-quality welding and fabrication on a variety of materials and structural components. You will interpret blueprints and technical drawings, complete dimensional inspections, and support general shop operations while adhering to safety, quality, and lean manufacturing standards.Responsibilities
• Weld a variety of parts in different materials, including carbon, stainless, and high alloy steels. • Perform structural welding on both thick and thin members, ensuring strong, accurate welds. • Conduct dimensional inspections of parts and verify that all work meets quality requirements and specifications. • Read, understand, and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan and execute welding tasks. • Perform grinding, sanding, and cutting operations using oxy-fuel and hand plasma equipment. • Apply pre-heat and post-heat welding techniques as required by material and project specifications. • Use carbon arc processes where appropriate for gouging and related operations. • Follow lean manufacturing practices to minimize waste and improve efficiency in daily work. • Comply with all quality standards and participate in weld inspection activities as needed. • Adhere to all safety programs, procedures, and guidelines while operating welding and shop equipment. • Support general welding and shop duties as required to meet production and project timelines. • Work under the direction of a team leader to safely produce quality parts in a timely manner. Essential Skills
• Proven experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and high alloy steels. • Hands-on experience with MIG welding in an industrial or structural environment. • Experience with FCAW (flux-cored arc welding) processes. • Ability to weld thick-to-thin structural members while maintaining weld integrity. • Strong blueprint reading skills, including the ability to interpret technical drawings and weld symbols. • Demonstrated ability to perform weld inspections and verify dimensional accuracy. • Experience with pre-heat and post-heat welding practices. • Proficiency with carbon arc processes for gouging and related tasks. • Strong overall mechanical aptitude and comfort working with large parts and machines. • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with stick welding (SMAW) in an industrial or structural setting. • Background in structural welding on large-scale components is highly beneficial. • Previous experience welding parts similar in size and complexity to those produced by large industrial manufacturers. • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, production-focused environment. • Willingness to learn and adapt to different machines and processes over time. • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, precision work. The facility operates some of the largest roll forming and press brake equipment in the region, along with multiple large machining centers. You will work under the direction of a team manager in a production-focused setting, where safety, quality, and timeliness are top priorities. The role involves hands-on work with welding equipment, cutting tools such as oxy-fuel and hand plasma, and grinding and sanding tools. Employees can expect exposure to a busy shop floor environment with large machines and components, and they will have opportunities to learn and operate different machining centers as they grow in the role.
