About this role

Position SummaryThe Industrial Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing efficiency, productivity, quality, and safety across recreational boat production operations. This role analyzes and optimizes manufacturing processes, labor utilization, facility layouts, material flow, production systems, and assembly operations to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes, workflows, and production data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste. • Conduct time studies, labor analysis, work measurement assessments, and establish labor standards. • Support line balancing and workforce optimization to improve throughput and productivity. • Lead and implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives. • Develop and execute projects that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and operational performance. • Evaluate equipment utilization and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). • Analyze operational metrics and prepare reports, capacity analyses, and cost-benefit studies to support business decisions. • Design and optimize facility layouts, workstation configurations, and material flow processes. • Support new product introductions by ensuring manufacturability and efficient production processes. • Partner with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve performance. • Identify root causes of quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions. • Develop and maintain process documentation, standardized work instructions, and manufacturing best practices. • Support safety, ergonomic, and regulatory compliance initiatives throughout manufacturing operations. • Lead cross-functional projects aimed at increasing capacity, reducing costs, and improving customer satisfaction. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. • 3+ years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. • Experience in assembly-based manufacturing environments; marine, automotive, RV, powersports, or aerospace experience preferred. • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies. • Experience conducting time studies, labor analysis, capacity planning, process optimization, and facility layout design. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and manufacturing data analysis tools. • Familiarity with ERP systems and CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks. • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred. • Knowledge of fiberglass, composite, or marine manufacturing processes preferred. • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting and analytics tools preferred. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, communication, and teamwork skills. • Ability to work effectively in both office and manufacturing environments. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Merritt Island, FL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
