Position Description: Responsible for writing grants/proposals assigned by Administration and Faculty, and developing communication pieces and projects as assigned. Submits proposals requesting contributions to individuals, corporations, foundations and governmental entities. Completes assignments from, and coordinates the efforts of, faculty and staff to produce high-quality grant proposals and related written materials. Prepares funder reports, stewardship impact reports and other communications. Tracks reporting requirements and coordinates information among campus stakeholders. Seeks out potential funders for grant and donation opportunities and cultivates relationships with funders.

Additionally, this position is not eligible for remote or hybrid opportunities. All work is required to be performed onsite at TTEP.

Major/Essential Functions: • Works with Principal Investigators to develop grant submissions for new, continuing and competing applications, including grant proposal preparation, study budget forecasting, completion of required forms and other administrative aspects of the proposal process. Ensures proposal compliance with institutional and funding agency policies and procedures. • Writes and develops proposals, reports and other communication materials that support successful funding outcomes and strengthen relationships with potential and current funders. • Facilitates all components of grant projects from submission through management phase in accordance with applicable regulations, including coordinating meetings with donors or potential donors and working collaboratively with faculty, staff, school Deans and the Office of Institutional Advancement. • Maintains research funding records, advises on issues as necessary and prepares project reports for research and development activities. • Identifies public and private grant opportunities, researches grant programs and plans, and generates proposals and supporting documentation in response to solicitations as directed by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement. • Works closely with faculty, staff and the Director of Development and Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to complete grants, reports and assignments in a timely manner. • Manages and reviews project status, revenues and expenditures to ensure compliance with grant funding regulations. • Works closely with the Director of Institutional Advancement, Managing Director of Development and Managing Director of Marketing and Communications on written development communications pieces and projects as assigned. • Assists in writing and editing donor communications, stewardship materials, briefing documents, presentations and other institutional advancement content as assigned. • Gathers, organizes and evaluates data from numerous sources to prepare comprehensive profile reports and brief event profiles on major donors and prospects. Helps manage the production and distribution of research reports needed for prospect identification, cultivation and solicitation. • Prioritizes research strategy and completes research requests. • Stays abreast of developments in prospect research, grant writing, fundraising communications and development writing through training sessions, professional memberships, conferences and related resources. • Remain current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position. • Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.). • Personally, and consistently, demonstrate, display and act in accordance with Texas Tech Health El Paso’s Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s degree in English, journalism or related field. • Experience working in higher education. • Experience writing in a professional environment involving deadlines, editorial review and directed assignments. • Experience producing a variety of written materials for internal and external audiences. • Strong editing, proofreading and project coordination skills.

Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism or related field. • Four years experience in proposal/technical writing. • Education and experience can exchange on a year-for-year basis.
