Job Description: BAE Systems is searching for a Principal RF Test Engineer with experience in developing automated test software solutions. The ideal candidate must be a motivated self-starter, able to complete assignments with little oversight while being available as a subject matter expert and technical lead to their team. They must be able to assume a full or partial lead role as circumstances dictate and be able to quickly and dynamically switch focus to accommodate the daily activities of an engineering team supporting a production environment. This individual should be comfortable providing accurate technical status to program management or direction to individual contributors as part of their job function, as well as interfacing with other engineering disciplines as necessary. Please note that pursuant to a government contract, the specific positions require US citizenship status.

Required Skills and Education: • U.S Citizenship with the ability to obtain a clearance • BS degree in STEM with 6 years’ experience or MS degree in STEM with +3 years’ experience. • Experience with debug & troubleshooting software or electronic boards. • Experience with testing and setting up test instrumentation. • Experience with RF Measurement techniques and ability to diagnose and resolve to root cause measurement anomalies. • Experience with RF test measurement methodology and development using a myriad of RF Test equipment (Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, power meters, etc.….) • S-Parameter, spectral, power measurements • RF stimulus
• Familiar with NI TestStand and/or LabWindows/CVI.
Preferred Skills and Education: Experience in supporting factory production test stands, debug, problem isolation, and resolution. Experienced in developing test measurements for production Ability to perform test solution development: • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one. • MS in Electrical Engineering preferred with +3 years experience developing test software of electronic testing. • The ideal candidate would be familiar or experienced in: • NI Test Software Tools • TestStand • LabWindows/CVI Software
• Instrument Communication • Network analyzers • Spectrum analyzers
• Microwave/RF measurements • VSWR • Gain • Compression • Phase noise • S-Parameters • etc.
• Understanding of Test Hardware (test adapters, cables, tools, and interface modules) • Understanding of Test Software (drivers, utilities, executives, and libraries) • Understanding of statistical analysis • Experience implementing digital communication protocols (MLVDS, RS232/485/422, PCI/PCIe, JTAG, SPI, I2C) in an automated test solution • Experience with the entire product life cycle development or parts of it: Requirements review, test plan creation, coding, integration of test SW with test stands, and sell-off to customers. • Takes initiative and has a closure-oriented nature • Experience with SW version control and bug tracking tools • Experience in supporting factory production test stands, debug, problem isolation, and resolution. • Experience with National Instruments FlexRIO (LabVIEW FPGA/VHDL/Verilog a plus) • JTAG/Boundary project development in an ATE solution • Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence) • Git and Tortoise Git • Strong leadership skills • Experience in leading engineers on multiple projects/tasks #ECSSE
