Job Description: BAE Systems seeks a seasoned Industrial Engineer with a strong skill set that will be utilized as a change agent to drive Operational Excellence throughout our Manufacturing and Supply Chain functions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker that can design alternative future state solutions by working with the organization at all levels and then by modeling each scenario with Simulation and CAD software. The best alternative will be funded and tactically implemented by the Industrial Engineer. These projects will have high visibility and will be monitored closely by leadership. The Industrial Engineer will be the project owner and will be held accountable for the results. Are you technically minded, detail-oriented and comfortable working at all levels? In this role, you'll provide support with layout, process design, and process improvement implementation that enables our sites to achieve peak performance. You'll lead Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects, and you'll identify and implement process flow, cost reduction, quality, and safety improvements. This opportunity will be challenging and when done well will deliver results that have a direct impact on company profitability.

Job Responsibilities:

• Use accepted industrial engineering and accounting principles to develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing build process and standards.

• Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to assist operations in process improvement and meeting strategic objectives.

• Enact improvement to resolve productivity flow problems and/or minimize cost.

• Drive sustained improvements through the utilization of process flows, operating procedures, and work instructions.

• Assist in determining optimal shop floor layouts, product flow strategies, assembly methods, ergonomics, material handling, using simulation and CAD software.

• Perform time and motion studies to develop standards for labor utilization.

Required Skills and Education: • BS in Industrial Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience

• Strong software fluency or skill set: AutoCAD, Simulation Software, Excel, Python or C#

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in manufacturing operations

• Demonstrated leadership in process improvement including logistics, supply chain, material presentation to the manufacturing areas, manufacturing flow optimization and implementation of operations work standards including methods and time standards

• Experience with Lean 6Sigma methodologies, 6sigma certification preferred.

• Experience establishing and maintaining work standards, methods and build times.

• Experience organizing material flow throughout the value stream from receipt through shipping.

• Experience leading Continuous Improvement events and implementing the results within Operations

• Experience establishing and monitoring Equipment Capacity levels via robust models

Preferred Skills and Education: • BS in Industrial Engineering or related discipline with 4-5 years’ experience in manufacturing, or in absence of degree 8 years’ experience.

• Experience utilizing project management tools (KPI fire or similar).
