YRK USW General Laborer
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and versatile General Laborer/Groundskeeper to maintain the professional appearance and operational efficiency of our York, PA facility on the 2nd and 3rd shifts. This role is critical in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our employees and visitors. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys outdoor work and is comfortable supporting various facility needs throughout the year. Key Responsibilities:
• Grounds Management: Execute all seasonal landscaping duties, including mowing, string trimming, planting, and general groundskeeping to maintain site aesthetics. • Winter Operations: Manage snow and ice removal to ensure safe access to the facility for all personnel. • Logistics & Material Handling: Coordinate the movement of office furniture, production equipment, and packages. Operate fork trucks and company vehicles (e.g., pickup trucks) to deliver items safely on and off-site. • Technical Collaboration: Partner with the engineering team to facilitate the strategic relocation of production equipment and office configurations. • Site Maintenance: Perform general site cleaning and custodial duties to uphold BAE Systems' facility standards. • Cross-Functional Support: Provide flexible operational support by stepping into auxiliary roles such as waste processing, tool crib attendance, or janitorial services as needed. Working Conditions:
• This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions year-round. • Physical ability to lift, move, and transport heavy equipment and materials.
