Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot mission-critical data center infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire/life safety, and building monitoring systems.

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical electrical systems, including UPS systems, switchgear, PDUs, RPPs, transformers, generators, ATS/STS equipment, battery systems, and power distribution networks.

Support electrical equipment commissioning, startup, testing, and operational readiness activities while ensuring compliance with safety and reliability standards.

Conduct electrical system inspections, power quality assessments, load studies, and root cause analysis of equipment failures to maintain maximum uptime and reliability.

Monitor critical facility alarms through BMS, EPMS, and DCIM platforms and respond to incidents, outages, and emergency situations.

Execute switching procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), energized work planning, and electrical safety protocols in accordance with NFPA 70E and company standards.

Coordinate and oversee vendors, contractors, and service providers performing maintenance and construction activities within the data center environment.

Read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, construction drawings, control diagrams, and technical documentation.

Support capacity planning, infrastructure upgrades, and capital projects related to critical power and cooling systems.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, operating procedures, incident reports, and compliance documentation.

Participate in on-call rotations and provide rapid response to critical facility events to ensure continuous operations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency, reliability, safety, and customer experience.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities: Key Electrical Experience Requirements

Experience operating and maintaining medium- and low-voltage electrical systems in a mission-critical environment.

Strong knowledge of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, transformers, breakers, protective relays, battery systems, and power distribution equipment.

Experience performing electrical troubleshooting, fault isolation, preventive maintenance, and equipment commissioning.

Ability to safely perform electrical switching and understand arc flash, NFPA 70E, and OSHA requirements.

Familiarity with power monitoring systems, electrical testing equipment, and load management practices.

Data center, semiconductor, manufacturing, healthcare, utility, or critical facilities experience preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification, or military training in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, HVAC, Facilities Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical facility infrastructure in a data center, mission-critical, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, utility, telecommunications, or similar environment.

Strong electrical maintenance experience with UPS systems, generators, switchgear, transformers, power distribution systems, ATS/STS equipment, circuit breakers, protective relays, and battery systems.

Experience performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on low- and medium-voltage electrical systems.

Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, control wiring schematics, technical drawings, and construction documents.

Working knowledge of electrical safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc flash awareness, OSHA regulations, and NFPA 70E requirements.

Experience troubleshooting electrical faults, conducting root cause analysis, and supporting equipment commissioning and startup activities.

Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), SCADA, and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms.

Basic understanding of HVAC, chilled water, fire/life safety, and mechanical systems supporting critical environments.

Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment, including multimeters, clamp meters, infrared cameras, power quality analyzers, and insulation resistance testers.

Ability to respond effectively during critical incidents, outages, and emergency situations in a 24x7 operational environment.

Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physical tasks associated with facility maintenance.

Willingness to participate in shift work, on-call rotations, and after-hours maintenance activities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a data center or colocation environment.

Journeyman Electrician license, Electrical Technician certification, or equivalent military electrical training.

Knowledge of medium-voltage switching operations and electrical distribution systems.

Experience supporting commissioning, construction projects, and infrastructure upgrades.

EPA, HVAC, Electrical Safety, or Critical Facilities certifications.

Data Center Certified Associate (DCCA), CDCP, CDFOM, or other critical facilities certifications.

Experience with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), predictive maintenance programs, and mission-critical operations.

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - LA3 Los Angeles : 67,400 - 101,000 USD / Annual
