## Job summary
You'll support people in their own homes through personal care and daily living tasks, helping them stay safe, independent and well. You'll be part of a supportive community team, working alongside healthcare professionals, patients and families. This role makes a real difference by delivering high-quality care that respects each person's needs, preferences and dignity.
### Main duties of the job
**What you'll do:**
* Provide personal care, including washing, dressing and meal support * Administer medication and carry out basic observations within your training * Support mobility and encourage independence in daily activities * Maintain accurate records using electronic systems * Work with colleagues and other services to ensure joined-up care
**What we're looking for:**
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or similar experience * Experience working in a care or health setting * Strong communication skills with patients, carers and teams * Ability to work independently and manage your own time * Willingness to complete training such as Care Certificate or medication competency

### Qualifications
#### Essential
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent level of experience in Health and/or Social Care * Medication administration training or willing to undertake this as part of the induction period * Care Certificate or willingness to complete this within a 6 month induction period
### Knowledge
#### Essential
* Experience of working in a health and/ or care environment * Experience of prioritising own work load * Good understanding of basic IT skills
#### Desirable
* Knowledge and experience of administering medication
### Skills
#### Essential
* Effective interpersonal skills to work one-to-one with patients * Ability to communicate with healthcare professionals and patients * Ability to deal with potentially challenging and distressed people * Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills in dealing with face-to-face contact * Good telephone manner and communication skills * Ability to work within a team and independently * Able to plan own time effectively
