Come join the Consumer Experience (CX) Engineering team - we work on a diverse set of consumer problems spanning across core experiences that power the UX navigation and transaction funnels, search and discovery of content and services, user lifecycle covering user growth, engagement and loyalty and the critical platform mission of mobile application developer experience. We are on an exciting mission to connect consumers to Grab's marketplace by enabling them to seamlessly discover and engage with Grab's services and partners.
Get to Know the Role
You will be responsible for building, growing, and leading a team of engineers focused on delivering high quality deliverables. You will have opportunities to develop backend & fullstack components. Not only will you get to collaborate with the engineers, product, business, data scientists and program management teams to be on top of your deliverables, but you will also serve as a mentor to your teammates to help them grow.
This role will be based in Indonesia and onsite at Grab office.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
Lead a team of backend, full-stack, mobile, and QA engineers.You'll participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards.Partner with cross functional leaders across product, design, analytics, data science to build the product roadmap, set customer-focused metrics and experiment designs.Lead the quarterly/half-yearly planning and build a smooth execution plan with the team for securing the delivery of product and engineering roadmap.Set the engineering strategy and engineering key result targets for the team, consistently improve across testability, availability, security and code quality for your systems and modules.Drive engineering improvements to power new product capabilities and platform improvements.Attract and retain senior engineering talent, actively mentor and develop engineering talent in the team and across Grab.Keep your team staffing aligned with business needs and quickly pivot to changing needs. What Essential Skills You Will Need
8+ years of engineering experience on backend / Fullstack technologies.At least 2+ years experience as a successful software engineer manager, with hands-on role in tech solutioning.Demonstrated experience attracting and retaining main talent. Experience mentoring engineers is critical for this role.Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring team members to achieve engineering excellence.Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)Experience with database design, MySQL, PostgreSQLExperience deploying code in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments Life at Grab
