At GrabFin, we empower the people of Southeast Asia by ensuring financial inclusion for the underserved. The Insurance Operations PST in Malaysia supports Insurance products and owns Accounting, Reports, Internal Tools, and Third-Party Integration domains for insurance products.
Get to know the Role
You will report to the Engineering Manager, Insurance Operations, based in Malaysia and develop backend systems powering accounting, reporting, and third-party integrations for insurance products. You will work on BNM regulatory reporting capabilities and local partnership integrations. We're looking for candidates that embody ownership, display a hunger for learning and improvement, and excel in autonomy.
This role is onsite based in our Petaling Jaya, Malaysia office.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
You will develop high-quality and scalable backend applications for accounting, reporting, and integration servicesYou will build and maintain third-party integrations (ISM, APAD, JPJ) for regulatory complianceYou will write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to solve challenging problemsYou will collaborate with diverse teams to design and ship new featuresYou will participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledgeYou will troubleshoot, debug complex issues, and provide quick resolutionsYou will contribute to architectural decisions and technical directionYou will participate in On-Call rotations to ensure service reliability What Essential Skills You will Need
You have 2+ years of relevant experience in software developmentYou have proficiency in Java (preferred) and/or GolangYou have experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and GitYou have computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structuresYou have hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS)You have experience with clean architecture principles and SOLID principlesYou have experience with financial/regulatory systems is a plus Life at Grab
