About this role
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Tasks: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect motor in operation. Review work orders . Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems. Repair or replace mechanical units or components. Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs . Perform scheduled maintenance service. Test and adjust units to specifications. Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements. Complete reports to record problems and work performed. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Hand-eye co-ordination. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Personal suitability: Accurate. Dependability. Reliability. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.
