Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Metal product fabrication industry. Sheet metal shop. Tasks: Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Read blueprint, schemas and drawings. Plan sequence of operation. Operate forklift. Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines. Work with minimal supervision. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation. Equipment and machinery experience: Brakes. Drills. Micrometers. Overhead crane. Saws. Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Bending. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks.
