We are looking to recruit Trainee Education mental health practitioners. This is a training position and the post holder will be undertaking the training at the University of Derby alongside working in the Mental Health Support Team.

The role is specific and involves offering Low Intensity interventions based on Cognitive Behavioural Techniques for Children and Young People. All applicants will need to meet the criteria laid out by the University of Derby to access the training course - either post graduate or graduate, these details are on the job description and person specification.

The training year will be worked across the full year, on completion of the course contracts move to a B5 permanent term time only contract.

Main duties of the job

You will receive supervision in line with the Trust values and the training course.

The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering, under supervision, high-quality; outcome-informed, focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing, mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.

The Mental Health Support Teams are currently based in two sites across the locality. These are Stoke, the Staffordshire Moorlands and North Staffordshire.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a developing service with high expectations for improving the outcomes for children and families in Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire.

oAbility to study as a self-motivated learner who can formulate their own progress towards learning objectives and negotiate pathways to achievement with supervisory teams

Qualifications Essential

For access to PG EMHP course oAbility to study at degree level. oProven record of previous academic attainment of second class bachelors degree or equivalent overseas qualification. oGood solid basic literacy and numeracy qualifications at a minimum of level 2 For access to Graduate EMHP course: oMinimum academic credit at level 4 and 5 or equivalent and significant related experience in a workplace setting. oLevel 3 will also be considered in a relevant subject and with significant related experience (subject to university approval) Maths and English GCSE minimum grade 4 (or grade C) or equivalent
