Job summary
To provide a comprehensive medical secretarial service to consultants and supporting teams within the General Surgery. To work collaboratively with other medical secretarial colleagues to ensure clinical correspondence is produced and distributed within acceptable timescales. It is essential that the post holder should exercise initiative commensurate with the role and that confidentiality be maintained at all times.
Main duties of the job
The main duty of the post will be to work collaboratively with the Medical Secretariat to ensure clinical correspondence is produced and distributed within designated timescales.
We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual who must have excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines while consistently working accurately.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
GSCE or equivalent at Grade C or above in Maths and English Language. OCR/RSA II Typing or equivalent.
Desirable
Medical Typing/ Transcription Audio Medical Secretarial AMSPAR Diploma
Knowledge and training Essential
Knowledge of Medical Terminology Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Packages (i.e., Outlook, Excel) Willing to undertake training to meet the requirements of the role, in an ever-changing NHS.

Previous Experience in Sunrise, Big hand, and Oasis
