About this role

Job summary

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual who has extensive administrative experience allied with knowledge and operational experience of working within within an NHS or similar healthcare environment.

This is a varied roles that requires the individual to have excellent communication and writing skills. They will also be able manage competing workloads and ensure the smooth operational running of the hospice.

They will provide support to the Assistant General Manager, Admin Team Leader and the wider administrative team as and when required.

This is a challenging role and would suit someone able to work in a multi-disciplinary environment on their own initiative with minimal supervision.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will function as key operational support for the Specialist Palliative Care Service (SPCS) based in Meadow House Hospice.

The role will ensure and safeguard the day to day running of the service as well as troubleshooting any operational issues that may affect service delivery.

The postholder will have a key role in supporting essential procurement processes as directed by the Admin Team and Assistant General Manager.

This will involve liaison with following teams:

1. Estates & Facilities team.

2. Charities team.

3. Finance team

4. Procurement Services.

Person Specification

Education Essential

Educated to at least A Level/Higher National Diploma

Desirable

Qualifications in Health & Safety/Risk Management, e.g. IOSH/COSSH or relevant experience

Knowledge and Experience Essential

Previous experience as an Administrator Experience of managing estates and facilities issues Experience of working with figures and stock control Understanding of risk and the ability to undertake risk assessments Understanding of finance processes within an NHS organisation Knowledge and experience of the NHS procurement process Project administration experience Experience of dealing with contractors Knowledge and experience of managing Health & Safety issues Knowledge and experience of managing infection control issues
