We are currently seeking Care Support Assistants to join our friendly and dedicated team, supporting a person based in St Helens.
About the Role
As a Care Support Assistant, you will provide person-centred support, promote independence, and help the person live the life they choose. Full training will be provided before you start work, with ongoing support from the wider team. Pay is £15.60 per hour for day and waking night shifts, £9.50 per hour for sleeping night hours from 11pm to 7am.
Available shifts include 7am–7pm, 9am–9pm, 7am–9am sleep-in shifts, and 9pm–7am waking night shifts.
Applicants must be willing to work a mixture of shifts, including waking nights once trained.
Hours available include 24 hours per week. Flexibility is required to cover annual leave and support consistency for the person we support.
Training will include tracheostomy care, ventilation, PEG feeding, epilepsy awareness and medication, alongside mandatory and client-specific training.

About the Person You Will Support
You will be supporting a cheerful young gentleman in his own home who enjoys being active, accessing the community and spending time doing the things that matter to him. He enjoys going out for drives, visiting familiar places, attending regular activities, karaoke, cinema trips, seeing friends and watching football. He is a Liverpool supporter and enjoys friendly banter and a good sense of humour.
He likes routine, familiar staff and being supported in a way that is calm, respectful and person-centred. Support is required with daily living, personal care, community access, appointments, maintaining routines and ensuring his health and wellbeing needs are met safely.
Your Responsibilities as a Care Support Assistant
Supporting the person with daily living, personal care, routines, appointments and community access
Supporting complex health and care needs after training and competency sign-off, including medication-related tasks, PEG/feed-related support, tracheostomy and ventilation care, observations and respiratory support as directed
Supporting with moving and handling, pressure area care, catheter care, equipment checks and comfort checks
Helping with household tasks and maintaining a safe, calm and respectful home environment
Keeping accurate records, completing handovers and communicating clearly with colleagues, family and managers
Working closely with another Personal Assistant as part of a 2:1 support package

To be successful as a Care Support Assistant, you’ll need:

A caring, positive and respectful approach, with a genuine desire to support others in a person-centred way
Good communication, handover and record-keeping skills
Basic IT skills and willingness to use electronic systems where required
A full UK driving licence is essential for supporting community access
Willingness to complete all mandatory, clinical and client-specific training before working independently
Previous care, complex care, medication, moving and handling, or learning disability support experience is desirable but not essential

Available shifts include 7am–7pm, 9am–9pm, 7am–9am sleep-in shifts, and 9pm–7am waking night shifts. Applicants must be willing to work a mixture of shifts, including waking nights once trained.
Hours available include 24 hours per week for 24-hour contracted post, or 20 hours per week post. Flexibility is required to cover annual leave and support consistency for the person we support.
The package is delivered on a 2:1 basis as part of an established wider team.
Training will include tracheostomy care, ventilation, PEG feeding, epilepsy awareness and medication, alongside mandatory and client-specific training.
A full UK driving licence is essential, as you will support community access and use of the person’s own manual Motability vehicle.
Previous care or complex care experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and competency sign-off will be provided.
