We are pleased to offer an excellent opportunity for a motivated and reliable Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA)
As part of our Haematology Laboratory team, you will play a vital role in ensuring high standards of patient care through the accurate and timely processing of clinical specimens.
Working within our reception area, you will be trained to handle biological samples, following strict Health & Safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures.

Main duties of the job

Your main responsibilities will include the preparation, labelling, and data entry of clinical specimens, all of which require a careful and methodical approach.
You'll be joining a UKAS-accredited department (ISO 15189) and an IBMS-accredited training laboratory, offering excellent development opportunities and a structured, professional environment to grow your career.
This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. Whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means being able to communicate in Welsh during routine clinical situations, such as welcoming patients, discussing straightforward aspects of their care and answering routine questions.
