About this role

Job summary

Working Part Time: 12 hours per week (3 days, 4 hours per day - to include a Monday and Friday)

The Pathology Department is looking for a dedicated, highly motivated and computer literate individual to join our Haematology administration team at The Countess of Chester Hospital.

We would welcome applications from experienced Support Medical Secretaries who are used to working autonomously, have high attention to detail, a strong work ethic, a flexible approach and the ability to problem solve.

The primary objective of the post is to provide support to the Haematology Department at The Countess of Chester Hospital, with a comprehensive secretarial service to the Consultant staff in their clinical duties.

Main duties of the job

To provide a comprehensive support secretarial service to the Haematology Consultants and associated clinicians, as directed by the Secretary Team Leader, managing a busy workload and shifting priorities.

The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 473 general and acute beds.Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility.Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.

Qualifications Essential

GCSE standard (English) or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent

RSA Typing III Audio typing qualification

Knowledge Essential

Audio typing experience Touch typist Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages
