Job summary

Are you organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting research in healthcare? Join our Research & Innovation Department and play a key role in advancing evidence-based care and service improvement.

The Research & Innovation Department is part of the Clinical Governance Directorate within the Trust. Our mission is to develop and support healthcare that is effective, efficient, and research-based. We contribute to:

Clinical governance initiatives including risk management, guideline development, audits, and patient satisfaction surveys. Implementation of the research governance framework. Supporting divisions in undertaking research and innovation projects.

As an Administrative Assistant, you will:

Provide administrative and clerical support within the Research function in line with agreed priorities. Assist with research and monitoring activities across the department. Help maintain accurate records and documentation to support compliance and governance. Contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care through your personal actions and commitment to continuous improvement.

Person Specification

Knowledge Requirements Essential

Entry level knowledge and understanding of a range of routine work procedures particularly those based on data /information collection and processing e.g. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software/Windows-based applications Confidentiality Multidisciplinary Team working

Desirable

Intermediate level knowledge and understanding of a range of routine work procedures particularly those based on data /information collection and processing Knowledge and understanding of a range of routine work procedures, including those outside immediate work area e.g Patient records / case notes Clinical terminology

Qualifications Essential

Good general education standard/ GCSE qualifications in English and maths (grade C or above) or equivalent

Desirable

Study beyond GCSE ECDL

Further Training Essential

Hospital computer systems e.g. Medway, case note tracking, ORION

Contractual Requirements Essential

Standard, as stated in Agenda for Change

Experience Essential

Data entry. Team work. Previous Admin Experience.

Desirable

NHS or healthcare related.
