About this role

Job summary

This post is fixed term/secondment until 01/10/2027. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, an agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager before application.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Management Accountant to join a supportive and forward-thinking finance team,supporting the financial management of a significant group of the Health Board's services.

You will be required to lead on the provision of financial information and analyse expenditure in order to improve understanding and management of costs and resources, working within parameters agreed with the Business Controller.

You will also lead on the review and analysis of financial reports from the General ledger in accordance with the agreed timetable and procedures, proactively reviewing and developing both processes and reports.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an highly motivated individual with experience of a complex organisation. You will be confident in working with senior service leads and providing robust financial leadership.

This role will provide high quality financial management and customer focused financial support for the Health Board's Estates and Facilities directorate and and several Corporate directorates.

Delivery of robust financial monitoring, forecasting and planning will be essential. You will also need to demonstrate leadership in coordinating workplans across the team. A CCAB qualification is desirable.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to interpret and explain financial concepts and information to non-financial managers. Excellent communication and IT skills (including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint) are essential. The ability to develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders, with the ability to challenge and influence others is critical to the role.

The ideal candidate will also ensure processes are efficient, effective and consistent across all areas they are responsible for, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will be someone who demonstrates initiative and wants to be part of a finance team that aims for innovation and excellence.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcareservices for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, inhospital, mental health and learning disabilities services. We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.

CCAB / CIMA qualified & member of Professional body Experience at Management level with proven professional and managerial experience and expertise In depth professional knowledge of a number of finance disciplines acquired over a period, including workforce and service planning

Experience Essential
