Main duties of the job What will the role of a Sonographer involve?

This role calls for equal excellence in technical and people skills

You'll need high levels of technical knowledge and the ability to work quickly and accurately

You'll deliver high quality ultrasound imaging & reporting for a varied caseload within the department, and on the ward as required.

The role will be largely based around Gynaecology service and patients.

What are we looking for in a Sonographer?

You'll have a BSc degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent to meet the registration requirements of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Post-Graduate diploma / DMU in Medical Ultrasound

Post registration experience of general ultrasound imaging and reporting to include Gynae pelvis scanning.

Experience of managing an ultrasound quality assurance programme will also be an advantage.

You must have excellent communication and IT skills, along with a good understanding of how to encourage and promote effective team work

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential
