Job summary Swindon Intermediate Care Centre Full time - 37.5 Hours per week We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Occupational Therapist to join the Therapy Team in Swindon Intermediate Care Centre. This post involves rotating between the Stroke and General Rehabilitation ward and General Rehabilitation Ward within Swindon Intermediate Care Centre (SWICC). This is an exciting opportunity to use your stroke rehabilitation skills, including cognitive rehab, Upper limb and functional rehabilitation. Main duties of the job As an Occupational Therapist in the Swindon Intermediate Care Centre, you will work full-time, rotating between the Stroke and General Rehabilitation wards. This role involves using skills in stroke rehabilitation, cognitive rehab, and functional rehabilitation. You'll work with the stroke and fractured NOF pathway patients, as well as general rehabilitation patients. The facility is a purpose-built 60 bedded inpatient unit with access to a therapy gym and rehab kitchen. You'll collaborate with Band 6 and 7 Occupational and Physiotherapists. The team is described as supportive, offering internal and external training opportunities. Clinical responsibilities include managing caseloads, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and ensuring patient confidentiality. Professional duties include maintaining competence through CPD, supervising staff, and participating in audits and service improvement activities.

Complete highquality Occupational Therapy assessments, develop treatment plans, deliver interventions, and adapt your approach as needed. Communicate clearly with patients and carers to gain consent, support decisionmaking, and encourage engagement in treatment. Work effectively with colleagues across all professions and external agencies to support patient goals and safe, timely discharge. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all organisational and RCOT clinical guidelines. Keep accurate, comprehensive electronic patient records in line with professional standards. Hold a valid driving licence with businessuse insurance, and use your vehicle to transport clinical equipment.Professional Responsibilities Maintain your professional competence through ongoing CPD and keep an uptodate development portfolio. Ensure your practice meets national and local standards of Occupational Therapy. Support and supervise rehabilitation support workers and occasionally Occupational Therapy students (with senior oversight). Take part in the appraisal process and work towards agreed development goals. Keep up to date with evidencebased practice relevant to your clinical area. Participate in audits, outcome measurement, and service improvement activities. Attend and sometimes lead inservice training sessions, tutorials, and other learning activities.
