Main duties of the job As a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Avery Healthcare, your role is to support the Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities designed to engage and stimulate residents physical, cognitive, and social well-being. You will be tasked with maintaining a safe and pleasant living and working environment, contributing positively to the professional image of the home. This role involves reporting any changes in residents physical or emotional condition to relevant staff, supporting the preparation of supplies for activities, and establishing connections with the local community to encourage intergenerational activities. We require candidates who have effective communication skills and an understanding of how interaction affects overall well-being. Additional expectations include a positive attitude toward older individuals and a commitment to quality activities, with previous experience working in a residential nursing Dementia setting. ABOUT THE ROLE

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:
Maintaininga safe living and working environment,contributing to the positive and professional image of thehome. Reporting any changes in residents physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager, and the care staff. Supporting with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities as directed. Supporting establishing links with the local community (e.g., schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage access to the wider community and promote intergenerational activity.

Our ideal candidate must have effective communication skills both verbal and written and possess an understanding of the role interaction plays in the general well-being of people. A positive attitude toward older people along with a commitment to providing stimulating activities and social events is required. Experience in working with older people within a residential nursing Dementia setting is also necessary.
