Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Patrol hotel guest areas, back-of-house areas, parking facilities, entrances, and other property locations.
• Monitor security cameras, alarms, access points, and other security systems.
• Maintain a visible security presence while providing courteous and professional service to guests and employees.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, emergencies, accidents, and other situations requiring assistance.
• Prepare accurate and detailed incident, accident, and daily activity reports.
• Investigate and document incidents involving theft, property damage, guest or employee concerns, and other security matters.
• Assist with emergency procedures, evacuations, fire/life-safety situations, and other emergency response activities.
• Enforce hotel policies and security procedures while treating guests and employees with professionalism and respect.
• Monitor access to restricted areas and assist with key and access-control procedures.
• Assist in protecting hotel property, guest belongings, employee property, and company assets.
• Work closely with hotel management, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments to address security and safety concerns.
• Communicate with local law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, or other emergency personnel when necessary and authorized.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding guest, employee, and hotel information.
• Provide assistance with lost and found procedures and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Complete required logs, reports, inspections, and other security documentation.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous security, loss prevention, law enforcement, military, or related experience preferred.
• Previous hotel or hospitality experience is strongly preferred.
• Must possess and maintain all licenses, permits, registrations, and certifications required by applicable federal, state, and local laws for the position.
• Must have any required security guard certification, license, or registration applicable to the property's location before performing duties that legally require such credentials.
• Additional certifications such as CPR/AED, First Aid, or other relevant emergency/safety certifications are preferred or may be required based on property requirements.
• Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful or emergency situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol the property for extended periods.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required by hotel operations.
