About this role
Minimum basic skills and abilities for the position are as follows:
Must have minimum of three (3) years' experience in Wood Products or related industry as a mechanical millwright, attend West Fraser Qualified Millwright Training, complete competency checklist per level, score a 21 on the Mechanical Reasoning assessment and Level 1 on the Millwright assessment, and have own tools.
General mechanical working knowledge:

• Repair/replace/maintain, all mobile equipment parts as well as chains, sprockets, bearings, belts, gearbox, motors, etc.
• Metal fabrication
• Welding; arc, acetylene, and others.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment
• Align and calibrate equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Hand Power Tools; drill, sander, grinder, band saw, etc.
• Construction/structural assembly.
• Measurements reading English/Metric; tape, caliper, ruler and other.
• Accountable for working safely
• Must provide quality workmanship.
• Must assign work and confirm completion.
• Direct and ensure quality work from contractors.
• Issuing hot work permits to meet AON guidelines.
General safety knowledge:
•
• Personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Lockout and Tag out.
• Fall Protection
Housekeeping:
•
• Maintain working area clean, shop, field area, vehicle and other.
• Keep working equipment/shop tools orderly.
