About this role

Are you energized by helping field and office teams get more value from technology? Sherwood Companies is looking for a Business Applications Analyst to strengthen ownership of our core business systems, field applications, vendor relationships, access processes, integrations, documentation, and the support model. This role will partner closely with Construction Technology, Operations, Finance, HR, and external vendors to turn business needs into practical, supportable technology outcomes.

The Business Applications Analyst is responsible for improving how Sherwood evaluates, supports, documents, and delivers business application capabilities, including ERP readiness, field application support, requirements gathering, testing coordination, reporting/data needs, and smaller technology projects. This role will play a key role in Sherwood's cloud journey, application modernization, ERP readiness, disaster recovery, process automation, and new jobsite technology delivery.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Under supervision, responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following essential functions:

• Serve as the primary IT owner and liaison for assigned business applications, vendors, access requests, issues, documentation, upgrades, and support procedures.

• Coordinate and manage disaster recovery planning, including recovery requirements, system dependencies, vendor responsibilities, documentation, testing, and continuous improvement.

• Lead technology coordination for new jobsite buildouts, partnering with project management teams, field leadership, vendors, and internal IT resources to deliver a consistent, repeatable, and reliable technology experience.

• Develop and maintain standardized jobsite technology processes, equipment standards, deployment checklists, vendor responsibilities, escalation paths, and readiness criteria.

• Support Sherwood's cloud journey by assessing application readiness, documenting dependencies and integrations, coordinating migrations, and helping transition systems to modern cloud and SaaS platforms.

• Partner with Construction Technology and operational teams on field-facing application needs, while keeping clear ownership between business adoption and IT support.

• Support ERP readiness and implementation work from the IT perspective, including requirements, testing, access design, integrations, data needs, documentation, and post-go-live support.

• Gather and document requirements through stakeholder interviews, workflow reviews, process mapping, user stories, acceptance criteria, and observation sessions.

• Analyze application issues, process gaps, support trends, and user experience concerns; coordinate with vendors, IT, and business teams to drive sustainable resolution.

• Maintain an accurate application portfolio, including ownership, vendors, licensing, access roles, integrations, support paths, recovery requirements, enhancement requests, and change history.

• Coordinate application improvements, field-focused deployments, training materials, communication plans, testing, and rollout support.

• Support reporting and data needs by helping define requirements, data quality concerns, dashboard opportunities, and handoffs to reporting or analytics resources.

• Promote secure and supportable application practices, including role-based access, least privilege, change control, auditability, data protection, and vendor accountability.

• Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, automate repeatable processes, reduce manual effort, improve integrations, and enhance employee experience.

• Help prioritize application enhancements based on business value, risk, user impact, cost, technical feasibility, and alignment with Sherwood's technology roadmap.

• Track project milestones, risks, dependencies, vendor commitments, and open decisions; provide clear status updates and escalate issues affecting readiness or operations.

• Stay current on construction technology, ERP, process automation, AI-assisted workflow, data and analytics, and integration capabilities that may benefit Sherwood Companies.

Required Skills/Abilities/Experience:

• Five or more years of experience in business systems, application support, business analysis, ERP, product ownership, systems administration, or IT project delivery is preferred.

• Experience in construction, field operations, industrial services, multi-location organizations, or project-based businesses is strongly preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Construction Management, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience supporting ERP, financial, operational, field management, document management, HR, reporting, or construction technology applications.

• Experience developing or supporting disaster recovery, business continuity, application recovery, backup validation, or operational resilience plans is preferred.

• Strong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process mapping, workflow analysis, user stories, testing coordination, documentation, and stakeholder facilitation.

• Experience coordinating technology deployments, office openings, jobsite mobilizations, field implementations, or other cross-functional launches is preferred.

• Understanding of application lifecycle management, including evaluation, implementation, adoption, support, optimization, modernization, and retirement.

• Working knowledge of cloud and SaaS platforms, application migrations, identity and access management, APIs, integrations, data flows, and shared-responsibility models.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Platform, SQL concepts, and modern collaboration tools.

• Ability to work effectively with project managers and field leaders, understand construction timelines, and translate operational needs into actionable technology plans.

• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, including executives, vendors, field teams, operations, finance, HR, and IT staff.

• Organized, curious, service-minded, and comfortable working in a lean IT environment where ownership, prioritization, adaptability, and follow-through are essential.

• Experience with Agile or product-oriented delivery, construction ERP systems, workflow automation, integration platforms, vendor management, change management, or project coordination is a plus.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of a normal office environment. No environmental hazards are encountered in performance of normal job duties.

Monthly travel to Sherwood offices, jobsites, and field locations is required to support the team, strengthen business relationships, assess service needs, and ensure a consistent employee experience. Additional travel may be required based on operational or project needs. The position requires after-hours availability for escalations, major incidents, or other critical business needs. Participation in an on-call rotation may also be required.

Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work may require occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying 20-pound objects such as files, documents, boxes, computers, or related equipment. Work involves sitting most of the time but may involve standing and walking for brief periods.

Other duties, responsibilities, required skills/abilities, and physical requirements may be added, changed, or removed by immediate supervisor.
