About this role
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
• Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Minimum 1 year dental leadership experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year orthodontic dental assistant experience preferred
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience
• Bilingual (Spanish) is required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Assist with Orthodontist in treating patient
• Instruct patient of elastic treatment
• Making Patient Safety and Team Safety the number one priority
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols
• Maintaining and upkeeping digital patient information
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Helping the Rodeo Team maintain office cleanliness and IC protocol
• Mixing amalgam, cement, and preparing impression materials
• Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
• Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
• Placing and cementing bands
• Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
• Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
• Ensures orthodontic team members embrace the perfect appointment and flow
• Point person for orthodontic escalations
• Coaching, training, and developing orthodontic team members
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
