JOB DESCRIPTION
To provide preventative maintenance and repairs for Security, Life Safety and Fire Safety Systems throughout the facility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Under general supervision, performs a variety of preventive and repair maintenance including: • Maintenance, repair, installation, removal and adjustment of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment, including motor driven equipment; • Installation and maintenance of electric strike and magnetic locking systems; • Installation and maintenance of Card Access. • Installation and maintenance of IP CCTV and VMS software. • Installation and maintenance of IP Intercom. • Installation and maintenance of Security Alarm. • Maintenance of Fire Alarm. • Estimates quantities of materials required for projects • Estimates parts and materials required for maintenance and repair of systems and equipment • Assists other trades as assigned. • Other related duties as assigned. • Job requires working shift work in accordance with departmental shift schedule. • Responsible to recognize and report patient, staff, and environmental safety issues, identify and implement preventative and corrective actions, within the scope of this role.
Requirements: • College Level Security Systems Technician qualification • Minimum of 2-5 years current experience in the security or fire alarm industry in service and installation. • Other suitable combination of education, training and demonstrated experience in industrial or institutional preventive and repair maintenance may be considered. • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and repair Electric Strike and Maglock systems, Card Access, IP CCTV, IP Intercom and Security Systems • Knowledge to follow blueprints and drawings in order to assist other skilled tradespersons in installations and relocation. • Knowledge of operating a variety of hand and power tools in order to perform maintenance duties. • The ability to perform mechanical repairs to equipment and facilities systems • The ability to maintain and repair locks. • Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques and protocols • Working knowledge of MS Office and ability to use AutoCAD • Computer skills to operate the building automation system and lighting control systems • Ability to apply correct method of repair and select appropriate tools • Manufacturer Certification on a Card Access System. • Manufacturer Certification on a CCTV or VM System. • Manufacturer Certification on a Security Alarm System.
