• CMM Programmer
Role
• To carry out dimensional inspections of connectors and other machined products on the co-ordinate measuring machine (CMM) to ensure conformance to drawing tolerances.
• Performing manual measurements of first-off and production parts.
• To prepare, modify and verify CMM programmes for both new and existing products.
• To prepare and complete accurate first-off dimensional records of inspection results.
• Creating accurate non-conformance reports in a timely manner.
• Maintaining a fast-paced production machine shop and inspection
Key Responsibilities
• Preparation and verification of CMM programmes for all products inspected on the CMM.
• CMM measuring of connectors and relaying findings to production personnel.
• Updating and controlling of both CMM computer records and CMM programmes.
• ‘Provide support towards the programming development of other CMM Operators within the department'
• ‘Ensure programmes are created efficiently in accordance with production schedule'
• ‘Maintain and review CMM equipment/hardware levels, ensuring that all necessary tooling/probing etc. are in good working standard and are readily available'
• ‘Maintain and review CMM calibration requirements and expiration dates'
• Creating accurate non-conformance reports and completing required actions in a timely manner.
• Maintenance of good housekeeping in the CMM room.
• Performance of monthly CMM verification checks.
• Preparation of profile moulds and providing coverage within the inspection department during absences.
• Liaising with Production Supervisor and QA Manager when non-conformances have been identified.
• Liaison with CMM software supplier with regards future requirement and development.
• Occasional assistance in transfer of unique identification of connectors.
• Demonstration of machine and inspection processes to visitors.
• Any other reasonable duties as required or deemed necessary to ensure the quality of goods is met and work is carried out in a safe manner.
• Ensure all QHSE and departmental procedures, policies and work instructions are adhered to.
Qualifications/Experience:
• Experience within a similar engineering/manufacturing environment required.
• Previous experience in CMM Programming and Inspection essential.
• Experience using ‘PCDims' software preferred
• Ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines and maintain high standards of productivity and quality.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
