Gentle Dental | 1099 Independent Contractor Minimum Commitment: 10 Days per Month Compensation: 45% of Production

Gentle Dental is seeking an experienced and patient-focused Traveling Periodontist to support our established practices throughout Southern California. This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist who values clinical autonomy, a strong referral network, and the ability to provide periodontal care across multiple high-performing dental offices.

The Periodontist will work as a 1099 independent contractor with a minimum commitment of 10 clinical days per month. The position will travel among designated Gentle Dental locations based on patient demand and practice needs.

Compensation

45% of Production

This production-based compensation model provides strong earning potential while allowing the Periodontist to focus on delivering high-quality specialty care.

Practice Locations

The Traveling Periodontist will support the following Gentle Dental offices throughout Southern California:

• Gentle Dental Desert (Palm Springs)

• Gentle Dental Murrieta (Murrieta)

• Gentle Dental Chula Vista (Chula Vista)

• Gentle Dental Del Lago (Escondido)

• Gentle Dental Grossmont (La Mesa)

• Gentle Dental Irvine (Irvine)

• Gentle Dental Placentia (Placentia)

• Gentle Dental Brea (Brea)

• Gentle Dental Orange (Orange)

Scheduling across locations will be coordinated to support patient demand and maximize productive clinical days.

Position Responsibilities

As a Traveling Periodontist, you will provide comprehensive periodontal care to patients referred by Gentle Dental general dentists and other providers throughout the Southern California region.

Responsibilities include:

• Diagnose and treat periodontal disease and related conditions

• Provide surgical and non-surgical periodontal treatment

• Evaluate patients and develop comprehensive specialty treatment plans

• Perform periodontal procedures within the scope of specialty training and licensure

• Partner closely with General Dentists and other specialists to coordinate patient care

• Provide clear treatment recommendations and communicate effectively with patients

• Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation

• Educate patients regarding periodontal health, recommended treatment, and long-term maintenance

• Support practices in delivering an exceptional patient experience

• Maintain high standards of clinical quality, professionalism, and patient safety

• Travel between designated Gentle Dental offices throughout Southern California

• Maintain availability for a minimum of 10 clinical days per month

Position Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

• Periodontics Residency Certificate

• Graduate of an accredited dental school

• Active and unrestricted dental license required to practice in California

• Current CPR certification

• Current DEA registration, as applicable

• Active NPI

• Ability and willingness to travel throughout Southern California

• Strong clinical judgment and commitment to quality patient care

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively with General Dentists, specialists, clinical teams, and practice leadership
