What You'll Do
• Safely operate forklifts to weigh, stack and move recyclable material bales
• Operate skid steers, loaders, balers and conveyor systems safely and efficiently
• Unload semi-trailers and move materials throughout the recycling facility
• Sort recyclable commodities and remove contamination from incoming materials
• Process cardboard, plastics, glass, aluminum, metals and other recyclable products
• Monitor material flow to ensure efficient processing and bale production
• Guide vehicles entering and exiting the facility while maintaining awareness of surroundings
• Move roll-off containers and assist with public recycling drop-off area operations
• Assist with dumping roll-off containers at the Disposal Center
• Support transfer station operations as needed
• Perform facility cleanup and general housekeeping duties
• Follow all company safety procedures and environmental regulations
• Stay actively engaged with team communications through company communication devices and headsets
What We're Looking For
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment preferred
• Prior forklift and skid steer experience preferred
• Experience in recycling, waste management, warehousing, manufacturing, construction or material processing preferred
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days required
• Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Work Schedule & Location
Location: Lansing, MI Regular schedule: Monday – Friday, 5:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. (30-minute lunch), Every other Saturday, 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
