Riverton Co-op is hiring a Meat Manager on a permanent basis, located on site in Riverton, MB.
Are you looking for an opportunity to learn, grow, and be part of a close-knit community? We're seeking a Meat Manager with meat cutting skills to join our team. Working within a combined Meat and Deli department, you'll play an important role in delivering quality products and exceptional customer service. Experience is preferred, but we're open to training the right candidate who has a strong work ethic, enjoys collaborating with customers, and is interested in developing their skills in meat and food service operations.
What you'll do:
Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the Meat Department, including production, merchandising, inventory, and food safety.
• Coordinate, supervise, and direct all Meat Department operations.
• Ensure the department operates efficiently and profitably.
• Maintain high-quality products and exceptional customer service standards.
• Implement marketing and promotional initiatives to drive sales and department growth.
• Foster a positive, engaged, and productive team environment.
• Manage departmental revenue and expense budgets.
• Monitor and achieve productivity targets.
• Uphold food safety, quality, and merchandising standards.
• Ensure guest service levels remain consistently high.
• Support the training and development of department team members.
Who you'll work with: The Team: You will work closely with department clerks, meat cutter and retail manager to ensure the needs of customers is met and the department is welcoming.
The Community: Riverton, MB is Located approximately 130 km north of Winnipeg in Manitoba's Interlake region, Riverton is a close-knit community of about 475 residents that serves a broader municipality of more than 3,300 people.

Who you are: You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:
• You have a Grade 12 Diploma.
• You have 3 years experience in a supervisory role and leading others; previous retail supervisory experience is considered an asset.
• Physically capable of performing dynamic and static movements, repetitive motions, and repeated lifting of up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Meat cutting experience considered an asset
• You're honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
• Be willing to work a varied schedule, that include rotating Saturday shifts. Riverton Coop is open 7 days a week and usually closes at 6;00 PM.
