Summary of Job Description:

Reporting to the Medical Affairs Manager, this position serves as the affiliate’s medical/scientific expert for the assigned product(s) and therapeutic areas. The role is responsible for shaping and executing medical strategy, supporting evidence generation activities, and providing medical/scientific expertise and strategic guidance to internal stakeholders. It also builds relationships with external stakeholders and contributes medical/scientific input to brand strategy, early asset development, and broader Medical Affairs activities.

Major Responsibilities:

Accountable for developing and executing a robust medical strategy for the assigned therapeutic area, aligned with affiliate priorities and broader brand objectives.Provide medical leadership and therapeutic area expertise to support cross-functional planning, scientific strategy, and field medical activities.Establish and maintain professional, credible relationships with external experts, academic centers, and relevant stakeholders; participate in scientific congresses, advisory boards, and discussion forums as appropriate.Support the identification, review, and management of Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS), including scientific assessment, internal coordination, and oversight in alignment with applicable standards and internal procedures.Deliver scientific presentations and medical education to healthcare professionals, individually or in group settings, and develop/update medical education materials as needed.Review and synthesize relevant scientific literature, congress data, and external insights to identify key medical trends, competitive developments, and opportunities relevant to the therapeutic area.Provide medical and scientific input into brand strategy, lifecycle planning, and early asset development, as required.Serve as a key scientific resource for assigned therapeutic areas, including responding to requests for medical and technical information and contributing to the development of accurate core medical materials and dossiers.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure medical/scientific accuracy and consistency across materials, initiatives, and communications.Contribute to the training of commercial and other cross-functional teams by developing and updating relevant scientific training content.Review promotional and non-promotional materials to ensure medical accuracy, balance, and compliance with AbbVie policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes, and AbbVie standards and policies. Essential Skills & Abilities:

- Knowledge of medical science and regulations – Required

- Excellent oral and written English communication skill – Required

- Knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory requirements governing clinical trials and experience in development strategy and the design of protocols – Desirable

- Experience of job in pharmaceutical company over 3 years – Desirable

Education/Experience Required:

Ph.D. – Desirable

Bachelor or Master of Science – Required
