About the Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and eager-to-learn Software Engineer - Java to join our engineering team. You will help build and maintain cloud-native services that process large volumes of data to deliver fast, reliable results. You will partner with experienced engineers, gaining hands-on exposure to the full development lifecycle — from understanding requirements and writing quality code, to deploying and supporting services in production.

What You'll Do:
Develop & Maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot, with growing exposure to Spring WebFlux and reactive programmingDeploy & Support services on AWS cloud infrastructure (e.g., EKS, S3, SNS/SQS, Lambda)Integrate with search backends such as OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or Solr with guidance from senior engineersWrite Quality Code — deliver clean, well-tested code with solid unit and integration test coverageDebug & Investigate — trace and resolve issues across services and infrastructure; participate in incident investigations and contribute to root cause analysisAutomate — write utilities and scripts using Bash or Python to support development and operational workflowsCollaborate — work with product owners, QA engineers, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver well-thought-out solutionsLearn — actively participate in code reviews, pair programming, architecture discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessionsSupport DevOps — contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and operational best practicesDocument — help maintain clear documentation of designs, processes, and technical decisionsYou will be reporting to an Engineering Manager.
What You'll Bring Required:
2+ years of professional software development experience with JavaSolid experience with Spring Boot and RESTful API designExperience with microservices architecture concepts and patternsGood debugging skills — comfortable reading application logs, tracing errors across services, and diagnosing issues.Experience or familiarity with AWS services (e.g., S3, SQS/SNS, Lambda, or EKS)Understanding of software design patterns and clean code principles (e.g., SOLID)Experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit 5 and MockitoFamiliarity with Maven or Gradle build toolsUnderstanding of Docker and containerization conceptsComfortable with Git and version control workflowsAwareness of CI/CD pipeline concepts and practicesExperience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners with a willingness to ask questions, seek clarity, and collaborate openly with the team
Good to Have:
Experience with Spring WebFlux or reactive programming conceptsFamiliarity with Kubernetes (EKS) or container orchestrationExperience with search technologies such as Solr, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearchComfort with Bash or Python scripting for automation and toolingExposure to performance testing tools (Gatling or similar)Familiarity with event-driven architectures or messaging systems such as Apache Kafka, SQS/SNSAwareness of observability and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, Grafana)Experience working in Agile/Scrum environmentsExposure to distributed systems and scalable architecturesExperience collaborating with cross-functional or globally distributed teams
