Summary of the role:
The Senior Technical Interior Designer will be responsible for translating design concepts into precise technical drawings and documentation for commercial, hospitality, or high-end residential projects, using Revit software. The role involves leading and managing the interior documentation team, overseeing project workflows, ensuring quality control, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful execution of design intent from concept through to construction.
Key responsibilities:
• Develop and coordinate interior design packages, including space planning, interior architecture elements, finishes, ceilings, walls, and fixed interior components, in line with the approved design direction.
• Support the implementation of project mobilization requirements related to interior design scope, deliverables, and documentation schedules.
• Prepare, review, and update interior design drawings and models to ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with approved project and company standards.
• Coordinate interior design works with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines, ensuring interior design intent is maintained throughout technical coordination.
• Implement and follow up on authority and regulatory requirements related to interior design deliverables, supporting compliant submissions as required.
• Participate in coordination and design review processes to ensure interior documentation is aligned with resolved comments and coordination outcomes.
• Ensure all interior design deliverables are fully updated in line with approved comments and coordination inputs prior to submission or issuance.
• Review work produced by junior interior designers, providing technical guidance, drawing reviews, and constructive feedback to maintain quality standards.
• Support the preparation of coordinated interior submission packages, ensuring documentation is complete, well-organized, and aligned with approved project procedures.
• Assist in client and consultant meetings when required, providing technical interior design input under the direction of the Design Lead or Senior Management.
• Support the preparation and review of interior design BOQs, ensuring quantities for finishes, fixed furniture, and interior elements align with drawings, schedules, and specifications.
• Maintain awareness of evolving interior materials, detailing practices, construction techniques, and relevant BIM tools, applying practical improvements within ongoing projects.
• Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to skill development, documentation quality, and workflow efficiency.
• Stay informed on the latest trends, materials and technology in the industry to keep our projects at the forefront of innovation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in technical interior design, with a focus on high-end projects.
• Proven experience delivering detailed drawing packages for high-end residential, commercial, or hospitality projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating technical detailing and execution capabilities.
• Demonstrable portfolio with a strong experience in delivering high-end residential, commercial, or hospitality projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Expert-level proficiency in Revit is required (minimum 10 years of experience using Revit on built projects).
• Good familiarity with integrated project delivery (IPD) and BIM coordination workflows.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SketchUp is a plus.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and construction standards.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Creative mindset with ability to think innovatively and execute complete design concepts.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a high attention to detail.
Working conditions and Environment:
• The position is office based from New Cairo, Egypt.
• The position has no international business travel requirements.
