About this role
The successful participant will gain retail experience assisting in a shop environment; the participant will be taught and mentored in:- Shop Merchandising Shop Floor Duties Window Dressing Stock Room Duties including sorting, pricing and preparing stock for the shop floor Customer Service Using a Cash Register IT including Microsoft Office and updating the shops daily Cash sheets.. This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. The participant will receive formal/informal training and mentoring in the following: Formal Training: Manual Handling; Health & Safety; First Aid Training Informal Training: Customer Service; Merchandising and Stock display; Stock taking/stock control; Till Operations; Cashing Up; Retail sales skills
