About this role
Support the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) in Liberia in promoting and protecting human rights, with a strong focus on youth participation, civic space, digital rights, gender equality, and transitional justice. The role contributes to strengthening accountability, inclusive governance, and youth-led human rights advocacy. Key Responsibilities Research and analyze human rights trends, especially issues affecting youth, civic space, and digital rights. Monitor and report on human rights concerns, including economic, social, and cultural rights. Create youth-friendly digital content and support online advocacy initiatives. Promote youth participation in governance, civic engagement, and transitional justice processes. Mainstream gender equality and support advocacy for the rights of women and girls. Follow up on human rights cases and help raise public awareness through digital platforms. Assist in designing and delivering human rights education and capacity-building programs. Engage with youth organizations, digital communities, civil society, and other stakeholders. Draft reports, briefings, advocacy materials, and communication products. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Human Rights, Law, International Relations, Political Science, Social Sciences, or a related field. Fluent English. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Strong research, analytical, reporting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Preferred Experience/Interest Human rights monitoring and advocacy.
