About this role
Support the World Food Programme (WFP) in Mozambique in bridging humanitarian assistance and long-term development, helping refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and vulnerable communities transition from aid dependency to self-reliance through resilience-building and durable solutions. Key Responsibilities Support emergency preparedness and response while promoting sustainable recovery and self-reliance. Contribute to the Call to Action initiative, helping refugees move toward long-term livelihoods and inclusion in national systems. Represent WFP in Durable Solutions coordination and planning processes. Develop strategies, tools, and guidance linking emergency food assistance with resilience and self-reliance programmes. Build partnerships with UN agencies, NGOs, government institutions, private-sector actors, peacebuilding organizations, and academia. Coordinate with WFP headquarters, regional offices, and country offices to share best practices and lessons learned. Support donor engagement, advocacy efforts, and resource mobilization related to humanitarian-development transitions. Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions, reviews, and internal coordination mechanisms. Help document and communicate impact through success stories and evidence-based reporting. Deploy as needed to support emergency and transition programming. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, Economics, Agriculture, Nutrition/Health, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, or a related development field. Fluent English. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Strong coordination, networking, partnership-building, and organizational skills. Preferred Experience/Interest Humanitarian response and emergency operations. Transition programming from relief assistance to sustainable development. Refugee and displacement solutions, including the Call to Action and Durable Solutions agendas. Knowledge management, strategy development, and programme coordination. Working in multicultural and complex operational environments.
